Nahoomie
Philip Sherburne
Philip Sherburne has traveled a long, circuitous path over the past two decades. One of the English-speaking world’s foremost electronic-music critics, the native Oregonian has gone from San Francisco to Barcelona, Berlin, Barcelona yet again, and finally the small Balearic island of Menorca, where he has lived with his family since 2018. He has been a contributing editor at Pitchfork since 2014, and before that he accumulated bylines in SPIN, Resident Advisor, The Wire, and many other outlets; since 2018 he has been a co-host, with Albert Salinas, of Lapsus
Radio, a weekly show on Spain’s Radio 3. Philip is a lapsed producer but remains an active DJ, with a CV that includes appearances at Poland's Unsound festival; Barcelona clubs Moog, The Loft, and Lolita; and Berlin’s
Panorama Bar, Horst, and Golden Gate, among others. His sets vary considerably depending on the occasion; they may take in anything from vintage techno, classic IDM, and contemporary bass music to ambient and experimental fare.
Phran
Barcelona-based, Venezuelan producer and DJ, exploring the intersections between techno, electro and acid with obscure tropical rhythms. He currently runs his own label, Vimana, and alongside NAP co runs the ACA label. He has released a series of EPs on Klasse Wrecks, and is ½ of Dos Ritmos with Klasse label boss Luca Lozano. He also has releases on labels such as Best Effort, Paralaxe Editions, Pelvis, Hivern Discs, Rhythm Control, and Silvox Recordings, among others. Alongside Ylia, he collaborates in People You May Know. They’re releasing a series of EPs via Vimana in 2024. The project has performed live at Mira Festival, Sonar Festival, and has toured with singer Niño de Elche, reinterpreting pieces that blend rave and club music with flamenco.
Fueled by his passion for the Venezuelan underground scene, he co-produced a Zine for Klasse Wrecks titled “Logos of the Venezuelan Minitecas”. The Zine delves into the history and visual imagery of Venezuelan mobile sound systems, known as Minitecas. This path led him to present a new live set at Sonar Festival 2023 called “Vimana Discplay”, an AV show offering a modern interpretation of the Venezuelan Miniteca Experience. Years before adopting the Phran alias, he produced as Pacheko, releasing bass-heavy music with a Venezuelan twist on labels such as Enchufada, Senseless Records, Shockout, and Lo Dubs, among others. Back in the day, with the Abstractor crew, he contributed to the production of a documentary called “Quien Quiere Tuki?” exploring the Caracas Raptor House and Changa Tuki scenes. His productions have been played by DJs such as Nick León, DJ Florentino, Lechuga Zafiro, Leon Vynehall, John Talabot, Batu and Tiga, among others.
Wooky
Albert Salinas Claret, better known by his stage name Wooky, is the
founder and director of Lapsus, a cultural platform based in Barcelona
focusing on cutting edge electronic music, creativity and technology. To
date, Lapsus has developed a wide range of complementary activities
including record labels, festivals, content for radio and curating events
and exhibitions. Wooky broke as a producer into the electronic music scene with the acclaimed The Ark EP [Lapsus Records, 2010] and later he established himself as a key figure in the Spanish creative collective with the releasing of his brilliant albums Montjuïc [spa.RK, 2014] and Archives [Lapsus Records, 20216], demonstrating a unique ability by mixing organic and meticulous melodies with intricate rhythmic patters from the nineties IDM era. All this background has led him to play on the most relevant festival and events all over the world such as Sónar, Mutek, Red Bull Music Academy,
TodaysArt, Insømnia, SMA Guatemala and Norbergfestival just to name a
few.
